Family Fun Day at the Down Syndrome Association of Delaware’s Delaware Down Syndrome Walk WHAT: Join Down Syndrome Association of Delaware as we unite for a common cause and raise funds at our 2021 Delaware Down Syndrome Walk! Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, take the first step and donate or register today! Help us spread the word; all are welcome for our day of celebration! WHEN: Saturday, September 18th from 11am-3pm. Registration opens at 10:30am and the walk will begin at 12:00 pm. WHERE: The Delaware Down Syndrome Walk will be held at Town of Whitehall (Middletown, DE). Please visit https://www.ds-stride.org/delawaredswalk for more information. WHO: Participants include, but are not limited to, people with Down syndrome, their families, friends, teachers, co-workers and other supporters. Anyone, with or without a direct connection to a member of the Down syndrome community, is welcome to attend. HOW: Register online at https://www.ds-stride.org/delawaredswalk or in person the day of. Individual $20, Family (up to 4 people) $35, additional children under 13 ($5). EVENT HIGHLIGHTS: Face painting, magic, balloon animals, moon bounces, silent auction, raffle tent, live performances, food trucks, ice cream and much more! Come join in on the fun! BACKGROUND: This is the 18th annual Delaware Down Syndrome Walk. 100% of the contributions received are directed to the education and support of the DSA of Delaware members and its mission. ABOUT DOWN SYNDROME: Each year over 6,000 babies are born with Down syndrome. All people with Down syndrome have an extra copy of the 21st chromosome in all or some of their cells. Early intervention, high quality education programs, a stimulating home environment and good medical care enable people with Down syndrome to become active and contributing members of their communities.
