RE: Middletown Watershed Walk
Dear Community Business Leaders,
We hope this letter finds you well. We are writing to you on behalf of the Town of Middletown’s Stormwater Program, a clean water initiative aimed at enhancing our local environment and preventing pollution. We are excited to announce our upcoming event, the Middletown Watershed Walk at Charles E. Price Memorial Park, located at 955 Levels Road in Middletown, DE. The date is scheduled for April 26th, 2025, at 10 A.M. The purpose of this walk is to actively engage the community with the environment and promote public involvement within Middletown’s watershed.
As you may know, watersheds are all around us! They are natural resource areas that drain and channel rainwater from streams and rivers into oceans and bays. They support ecology, replenish drinking water sources, and offer recreational opportunities such as fishing and boating. Over time, watersheds remain under threat from new and ever-changing conditions as they are exposed to the surface impacts of everyday activities. Therefore, we all must do our part to take preventative measures to ensure safeguards are in place so that future generations can continue to have safe access to clean water.
In order for this event to be a success, we need your support! We are seeking donations for prizes and giveaways, volunteer support at the event, and assistance with marketing to ensure involvement. If there is anything that you or your business would like to contribute, please feel free to reach out to Tim DeSchepper, Town Planner, to express your interest in this event. He can be reached by phone at (302) 379-7366 or by email at tdeschepper@middletown.delaware.gov.
